Not to be for our U21 footballers

Cappawhite Gaels 0-05 Clonmel Commercials 1-10

Hard luck to our U21’s who were defeated by Clonmel Commercials in today’s County Final. The team can be proud of how they have performed in the football competition this year, and yet despite the final scoreline, they didn’t look out of place in an ‘A ’football  final. Perhaps with a little more composure at the end of some really good passages of play, the result may have been different.

The lads will now turn their attention back to the small ball. Next Sunday, there lies the prospect of completing a West U21A double, should we get over the line against Clonoulty Rossmore. The game takes place in Kilcommon at 12pm.

Aidan Mair, Pakie Barry, Gearoid Ryan (B), Daire Duggan, Michael English, Thomas O’ Mahoney, Mikey O’ Brien (Captain), Tommy Costello, Stephen Dee (0-4, 0-2 frees), Ben White, Sam Carmody, Conor Martin, Brian Gerard Buckley (0-1), Anthony Barry, Cian O’ Carroll.

Subs used: Tristian Stokes (35 min), Neil Clancy (41 min), Seán Cleary (52 min), Conor Gantley (56 min), Mikey Carmody (61 min).
