Highlights from our U13 team in 2023!

March

A huge thanks to Michael Ryan (W) of Whitemore Mechanical who has very generously sponsored a set of jerseys for our U11 & second U13 team.
The jerseys made their debut in a football challenge match vs Dúrlas Óg.
All were thrilled with their jerseys & we look forward to seeing our players wear them with pride.

Our U13s who got through to the West U13D Football Final following their semi final win over Arravale Rovers in Annacarty.

After our U13Bs won the D West Football Final, our U13A team went & won the B Final in Bansha.

It was a tremendous battle by both teams tonight in front of a large crowd with Cappa just edging it out by a solitary point.
Well done to all the boys, to their coaches Paddy Julian, James Kiely, Sean O’Shea, Ger Ryan B & Owen Doody and to the boys parents.

Our U13 team after a tremendous display of football in their county semi final vs Ardfinnan and qualified for the U13D county final.

Hard luck to our U13Ds who despite a brilliant display of footballing came up just short to Ballina in the County Final.

Thanks to their coaches & parents & to the boys themselves who have done their club proud.

There are many bright days ahead for this talented bunch of lads.

It was all back to the Resource Centre after the match for some well deserved chips, pizza, sausages & chicken.

Betty Buckley, Chairperson of Cappawhite Council presented the team with a set of shorts earlier in the week. Thanks to Cappawhite Community Council for the support.

The boys were presented with socks by the club also. Thanks to Ned Carmody, our juvenile club chairman for organising the socks for the lads.

We are so fortunate with all the kind people in our parish & the support our club receives. It was also fantastic to see so many Cappa supporters in Dundrum.

We were delighted to host all the Garda Cup Finals today across both our pitches. Well done to all the teams who competed in all the finals. It was a brilliant morning of football in the sunshine!

A huge thanks to Jerry Renehan, Kilbeg Contractors for buying gear bags for our U13A team.

This was to mark their achievements so far this year in winning a West U13 football title.

The bags were presented to the lads by Jamie Renehan with Chrissie Renehan & Elaine Renehan also present.

Thanks so much to Kilbeg Contractors for their generosity- the lads are delighted with their bags.

Cul Camp 2023.

What a great week we had & we managed to mostly escape the rain.

Thanks to all our coaches, our volunteers & the parents who helped out & who made the week such a success. Thanks to Cappawhite Ladies Football Club for their support as always & to Cappawhite community council who had made the Community Centre available to us if needed.

Thanks to our West Intermediate champions who bought the Cup to camp on Monday.

Thanks to Tipperary GAA for arranging for Brian O’Mara to call to see us on Tuesday. Thanks to Sean, Cecilia & Kathleen for photos. A huge mention to Ned Carmody, our Cul Camp Co-Ordinator for all his work this week. He made sure the camp ran smoothly all week – thanks Ned. We know a lot of work goes on behind the scenes.

The week ended with the annual water fight & we were visited by Ryan’s Centra, Cappawhite with an ice cream for everyone. Thanks to Shane & Breda Ryan for their generosity. It was a lovely end to the week!

Well done to our two U13 teams on their wins in hurling championship.
One team overcame Carrick Swan in the U13A South West League in Cappa.
The other team defeated Emly in the West U13C championship in Emly.

Well done to Conor, Dylan, Fiachra, Ciaran, Liam, Aaron, Sean & Conor who were part of the West Tipperary teams that played three U13 selections from South Tipp Gaa in Cahir.

It was a highly entertaining game of hurling in front of a large crowd. They gave a brilliant display & we are so proud of everyone of this young team!

West U13 Development Team

Well done to the 4 lads from our U13A team who were part of West Tipperary U13 development teams. They played Limerick City selections in two games in University of Limerick.

October

All Ireland winning goalkeeper & Tipperary U20 Hurling Manager Brendan Cummins called to Cappawhite on Saturday morning and gave some of our U13s & U15s a goalkeeping training session.

It was a brilliant session & the lads really enjoyed it.

Our own fantastic players Thomas Costello (Selector) & Jerry O’Neill (Goalkeeping Coach) who are part of the Tipperary U20 backroom team were also on hand to pass on their skills & knowledge to the lads during the session. Thanks lads!

Thanks so much to Brendan. We were delighted to welcome him to Cappa!
