2023 Fun Run/Walk & Long Puck in Aid of The Dillion Quirke Foundation.

On Monday 6th February, we held our annual 10K & 6K Fun Run. Before the run kicked off at 12 we had an Adult & Juvenile Long Puck Competition out on our pitches.
There was a fantastic turnout. The club would like to thank all who came out to support our event. Special thanks to all our stewards who lined the route, our motor bike and electric bike marshals, Pat & Owen in our safety cars, all our adult & Bord na nOg coaches who looked after the long puck, those who helped with event registration & refreshments afterwards.

Thanks to our MC Liam, our photographer Sean, to Joe & Kathleen & members of our club committee for the organisation. Also to Cappawhite Community Council for the use of their facilities.

Well done to the first runners home Pat Ryan (6K) & Barry Hartnett (10K). Also to the first 2 juvenile runners home – Rocco Julian & Cathal O’Neill. Amazing running

The winners of our long puck were:
Adult: Neil Clancy
U13: Fiachra Doody
U11: Ciaran Martin
U9: Harry Julian
U7: Tom Carmody

It was a fantastic day. We are very fortunate with the spirit of volunteerism & support in our community.

€2166 was raised & will be donated to the Dillon Quirke Foundation.

Our Intermediate Team played a challenge match against Thurles Sarsfields. Both teams retired their no.11 jersey as a tribute to the late Dillon Quirke & as a show of solidarity with Clonoulty Rossmore GAA club.

Neil Clancy made it to the next stage of the competition.
