Highlights of what some of our youngest members got up to in 2021!

June

2021 Parish League
Great excitement in Cappa field as we played out semi-finals & finals of our hurling/football juvenile parish leagues.
The weather played its part and sun was out to showcase the best of the skills our players have been learning at training the last few weeks with their mentors.
Clear to see some great work is being done at home on the lawns and against the walls with parents also.
Thanks again to all our mentors and the young whistlers.
The visit of the ice cream van with 99s for all is the least every one deserved.

Cul Camp 2021 19th to 23rd July
Our Cul campers basked in the sunshine this year. Great skills & talents on display & a brilliant week enjoyed by all.
A huge thanks to our Cul Camp co-ordinator Owen Doody, Sean Carmody, our Bord na nOg officers Niall Hayes, Liam Ryan, the coaches, volunteers, parents & all who make our camp what it is!

August

Thanks to Doon GAA U11’s for coming over to Cappa to play our U11’s. A really competitive game with loads of skills on show.

September

Our U7s who took part in a football blitz in Bansha.

October

Good day for our younger Bord na nOg teams today who are improving all the time. Great enjoyment in Murroe with our U9s winning the Reale Cup tournament for the first time.

Winning very sporting games with Kilruane McDonaghs, Sean Treacys & hosts Murroe Boher, & beating Kilruane again in a tough final. All the players efforts & skills were a credit to the coaches with mention to our captain Liam who gave a very impressive speech when accepting the Cup and to Jesse who was chosen as player of the tournament.

Followed up by our U8s & U7s who took on the hosts in games also.

Day 2 of hurling in Murroe.

Our U10s played great games v Templemore, Kilruane MacDonaghs & hosts Murroe Boher winning the shield final.

Our U11s played Galway team Kilbeacanty, our neighbours Sean Treacys & Murroe Boher but lost out in their final to Sean Treacys after a super effort.

A fantastic day of hurling (despite the weather) with brilliant skills on display.

Massive thanks to Murroe Boher GAA for hosting our teams this weekend & for the lovely hospitality after each game. Thanks also to all our coaches & parents.

McGraths Pharmacy U9 & U11 Blitz (Saturday 9 October 2021)

What a glorious morning was had with both the weather and the skills on display in Cappawhite GAA grounds as our u9s & u11s hosted a blitz kindly sponsored by McGraths Pharmacy.

Our u11s got it underway with Durlas Og, Newport and ourselves playing some very close matches.

This was followed by our u9s who hosted Doon, Upperchurch & Mullinahone.

Huge credit to Liam Ryan our Bord na nOg Secretary for coordinating the day, Niall our Bord na nOg chairman for his inspiring words to all, to our team mentors for running the games on the day, the young whistlers for referring the matches & to all those who assisted in the catering for our guests on the day.

Finally a huge thanks again to Joanne & Nora in our local McGraths Pharmacy for supporting our Bord na nÓg.

Joanne McGrath, Niall Hayes & Nora McGrath.
