Kieran Morris put H&MV back in front from a free after 3 minutes. Good play from Paudie Greene created a goal chance for Kieran Morris after 7 minutes and Morris finished well to open up a 4 point lead. Jack Fallon scored a second goal for H&MV after 10 minutes and the lead was out to 7 points. Morrissey pulled a point back for John The Baptist from a free after 11 minutes. Paudie Greene scored a third goal for H&MV after 12 minutes to open up a 9 point lead. Morrissey fired over his third point to reduce the lead to 8 points.
