A strong second half performance saw Regeneron qualify for the All-Ireland Final after a good victory over Tipperary ETB at UL on Monday night.
Regeneron took an early lead with a point from Adrian Enright. A goal chance for Regeneron saw a shot from Andy Quaid bring a good save out of Tipperary ETB keeper Timmy Fleming. Good play from Regeneron finished with a point from Conor Herlihy to put 2 points between the teams. Another goal chance for Regeneron saw a shot from Michael Liddane hit the post. Tipperary ETB got up and running with a good score from Conor Ryan to leave 1 point between the teams after 15 minutes. Michael Liddane kicked a point from a free for Regeneron to increase their lead to 2 points. A good run and well kicked point from Adrian Enright for Regeneron left 3 points between the sides. Tipperary ETB finished the half strong with two very good scores from Sean Ryan and Dominic Walsh to leave 1 point between the sides at half time. Regeneron 0-4 Tippeary ETB 0-3.
Regeneron started the second half well with 3 points in a row from Adrian Enright (2) and Todd Donovan. Tipperary ETB reduced the lead to 3 points with a point from Eoghan Ryan. Enright who was one of the standout players throughout the 60 minutes kicked a great score for Regeneron to put 4 between the sides again. Jonathan Fitzgerald kicked a good score for Regeneron to increase the lead to 5 points. Sean Ryan scored his second point from center back to make it a 4 point game. Enright responded with another good score for Regeneron. From the kickout Sean Fitzgerald won possession for Regeneron and fired over another point to put 6 points between the teams. Fitzgerald kicked another point on 50 minutes and the lead was out to 7 points. Tipperary ETB tried hard in the closing stages to get back in the match but a goal in injury time wrapped up a very good and deserved victory for the Limerick side and sets up an All-Ireland Final meeting with Abbvie (Sligo) later this month.
