Ireland Lights Up & Irish Life – Every Step Counts Challenge 2025
As part of our Healthy Clubs initiative, Cappawhite GAA and Cappawhite LGFA will be taking part in ‘Ireland Lights Up’ & ‘Irish Life – Every Step Counts Challenge’ again in 2025.
‘Ireland Lights Up’ encourages GAA clubs across the country to light up and bring communities together to walk/run in a safe environment during the dark winter evenings.
The event will run every Monday and Wednesday from 7-8pm starting from Monday 13th of January for five weeks on our community walking track.
In conjunction with ‘Ireland Lights Up’, we have also registered to take part in ‘Irish Life – Every Step Counts Challenge’ 2025.
Irish Life are asking clubs to track a total of 4,000km over a five-week period (Jan 8th to Feb 12th). Irish Life will be giving away a combined €30,000 in club funding to clubs that reach the target.
In 2024, our 75 step challengers recorded a super total of 10,330.7 kilometres!
Anybody taking part is asked to download the ‘My Life’ App and follow the instructions below so that steps are recorded on your smartphone/wearable tracker (Apple Watch, Fit-Bit etc.)
Step 1: Download the ‘My Life’ App here > Download – My Life App by Irish Life.
Step 2: Once you register, go to Social > Challenges > Munster GAA > Cappawhite GAA & LGFA
Step 3: Link your wearable tracker to the ‘My Life App’. Fitness wearables are not necessary, having your iOS/Android device in your pocket will record your steps via the Health App. Further tracking information can be found here > My Life App by Irish Life – Tracking Information
*The steps challenge is for over 18’s only, but all are welcome to come and take part in the excercising.*
With our Annual Fun Run/Walk due to take place on the 3rd of February (further info to follow), these events are a great way to prepare for the day, as well as socialise, keep healthy, and raise funds for the club!
